    New to sailing

Sarah I have to agree, its a nice looking boat. However, starting very large with all the unknowns. I have an Ericson 29 and thought she was in good shape. 2 years later I am at a point where I am finally enjoying her. It was alot of work, and I still have a plethora to go mainly aestethic...

    Shopping for a bigger boat

Adam My Uncle had a Islander 36 and I will say I loved that boat! He had for almost 9 years and I found it very roomy and ornate down below. As well out on the open ocean with a 150 that boat hauled ass. I can only remember getting weather helm once in a 30kt blow. It has the skeg hung...

    Ericson 27 to share

I am a member of the AISC and we do 2 races a year with the golden isles sail club. You may want to check in with them as they may have members that may be interested. They do have a website, and you could check with Dave Heine up there. Cheers Thom Blooz Traveler

    5432 exhaust elbow

I had the same problem with my Beta 20. I had a tube made up for $320 stainless from a fab guy near me. He also made me a 90 degree elbow at the bottom for $35. I had to use header wrap up to where the water came in from the heat exchanger. It now goes over the water line . T E29 Blooz...

    finally a place!

Thanks Ed Even though not W, still a big plus. We use a golf HDCP system and I had a 222. It was pretty nice when we passed a catalina 34 and a catalina 42! I didnt think the old girl had it in her!

    finally a place!

I have had my E29 for almost 2 years now. This year my race record has not been stellar! 2 dnf's, 1 dns, and lots of last place finishes, I finally came in second place out of 6 boats! We came in second by 2 mins corrected time in seven mile course! The ironic part was the bolt on the...

Calculating length for a main sheet

I have a E29 and trying to calculate the length needed for a new main sheet. I think I heard the factor is 2.5 times, giving me about 73 feet. Does that sound about right? thanks T blooz traveler

Big Gulp (water in the exhaust) E29

Water in oil update! Well I had a mechanic look at the engine cause I was convinced it was a blown head gasket. The engine sits so low below the water line that exhaust needs a riser that is high. what is happening is the current design allows the water to go back into the engine. I am...

    Sailing music

I think my fav tune to sail to is "prince of the sea" by Lenny white. Its a guitar duo between Al dimeola and Larry coryell. Of course the whole album CARAVANSERAI by santana rules!

    E29 cracks by mast step.

I have a 71 and no deck cracking however did I have leaks especially the stbd side. I reembedded the stanchions with 5200 and put a backing plate on the inside. I still have a little leaking and I agree it could be the grab rails. Good luck! T Blooz traveler

    race weekend

Very nice Brian! I am sure you got a few bruises and bumps and scrapes as myself and crew did in 15-20kt winds. One of my crew bled on my new sail. I am changing the name to blood and gutz! T
