Can I remove the blower and hoses?

I'll add my vote for eliminating the blower. Took it out years ago and never looked back. My theory is that the blower was a design idea left over from olden Atomic 4 times, when positive ventilation was required to remove gasoline fumes.

Salt Water System - Looking for what factory install looked like

Our '85 E32 was arranged as follows: Through-hull under the gally sink with ball-valve, connected by a tee fitting to two branches. One branch goes to the icebox. The other branch goes to the foot-pump connected to the gally sink. A valve on the side of the icebox prevents the box from...

    Running pole piston

The piston in the end of our Forespar running pole is stuck. On the Forespar website, I found a suggestion to soak the end in white vinegar to dissolve accumulated crud. Any idea how long it should soak? Any suggestions about how to prevent it from freezing up again? Forespar is very...

    Ice box drainage

On our '85 E32, the intake of the second foot pump has two branches. One goes to a seacock to get saltwater. The other goes to the icebox. A valve on the outlet of the icebox keeps it from flooding when the seacock is open. To empty the icebox, we close the seacock, open the icebox drain...

    Fuel Tank Repair

We think that our tank corroded from the outside in. That bottom corner sits in a pocket in the hull that can trap a few inches of water. Inside of the tank was clean, outside was what you see in the photo.

    Fuel Tank Repair

We have a 1985 E32-3. Found oil in our bilge. It wasn't coming from the engine. Eliminated all sources except the portion of our fuel tank that is concealed from view under the boat's liner pan. The tank was about half full, too heavy for me to lift out in order to inspect the bottom...

Does anyone know if DMI Marine Instruments is still in business?

False Alarm Just talked to DMI. Their web server must have been offline yesterday, today everything was back. I was able to order a new paddle wheel for my knotmeter. False alarm. Sorry.

Does anyone know if DMI Marine Instruments is still in business?

Does anyone know if DMI Marine Instruments is still in business? They have been a reliable source for parts and repairs for our old Datamarine instruments. When I attempted to reach them this evening, their website, http://www.dmimarine.com, was gone and their email, dmi@dmimarine.com...

    Cabin Sole Replacement

We have a 1985 E32-3. Cabin sole is badly rotted around mast step. Entire sole looks pretty ratty. I'm considering ripping out and starting over. As I start planning this project, I have some questions: 1. Does anyone know the construction of the sole in a 1985 boat? I have the...

    Electric Fuel Pump

Does anyone know the specification for the original electric lift-pump that Ericson pared with the Universal M25XP engine? (GPH and pressure)? Our boat is a 1985 E-32. I think that the original pump was made by Facet but I've lost track of its characteristics. The pump has been replaced...

    T-mold

I just replied to Chris Corcoran's old advert for t-mold. If Chris isn't still in the T-mold business, does anyone else have some lying around? I'm looking for the 1/2: plastic t-mold that trims out the hatches of our 1985 E-32. Thanks.

    T-Molding

Plastic Tee-Mold Chris: I see that your advert for the tee mold is a few years old. Do you happen to still have some of the molding? Let me know if it is still available, I'm looking for enough to do the two hatches in our 1985 E32-3. Thanks.

    Bedding for portlites

My big project this spring will be replacing the Bomar portlights in our '85 E-32. Based on my web surfing, it seems that the aluminum flanges of the portlights should be bedded in either a polysulfide such as 3M 101 or a removable polyurethane such as 3m 4200. Of these two, which is preferred?

    Weeping mast

Weepy mast and other leaks This message thread sounds like the story of my life. We've always had that inch of water in the bilge, and the weepy mast. I assumed the mast should drain directly into the bilge, never knew about the drain slot in the back. I'll look for it next time I'm on...
