My yard said to replace my cutlass bearing they would have to remove the shaft and rudder which would be very expensive. Has anyone used the StrutPro tool successfully that doesn't require the shaft and rudder to be removed? Also, where can I purchase a new cutlass bearing for the 30+?
Has anyone removed the water heater on a 1985 Ericson 30+? I can see that the two hoses are connected to my Universal M-18, but I have no idea what plugs I need once I remove the hoses. Any suggestions?

My 85 30+ does have a damp area around the anchor locker. the board at the V berth has been damp on occasion. If you could, I would like to see your photos. All in all, the boat sails great.

Does anyone know what needs to be done to service the seacocks on the 1985 30+? They work fine but since its laid up may as well clean and service them.
Is there a faster way to empty the water tanks on the E 30+ besides turning on the faucets? Since I have one tank under the V Birth and the other on the Starboard side, it take quite a while to empty 50 gals.
On my 30+ I have two tracks, one on the outside edge and the other next to the cabin top. My fairleads are attached to the track next to the cabin. One person said since I have a 150 Genoa, the fairlead should be place farther back on the outside track. This would make the sheets trail outside...
My 1985 30+ has a rope/wire main halyard. When I raise the main fully, the wire portion is wrapping around the mast winch. Is this suppose to happen? It's difficult to cleat off with the beginning of the wire portion. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
