Low Oil Pressure Universl 5416, Ericson 30+

I didn't like the idiot light set-up on the Universal 5416 when I became the new owner of a 30+ so I took out the sender and fitted in a proper adapter and oil pressure transmitter. To my shock, after fitting up the transmitter, the oil pressure reads about 1 lb or at most 2 lbs, even at high...

Low RPM and sudden loss of power

Yesterday when taking our 1987 E28 out, the engine would not rise above 2200 RPM. She is normally capable of well over 3000 RPM with the manual quoting 3600, though I'll never test it. I typically don't ever force her above 2600 RPM, which is at the low end of the manual's cruising...

    A new low

Trying the put the binacle and steering system back together today I found that the only way to get in there and tighten the nuts was on my back. I actually managed to get into the starboard sail locker on my 35 and lay on my back under the sole. Of course once I got in there I was not sure I...

    Low oil pressure buzzer

Has anyone changed out that obnoxious sounding low oil pressure buzzer with one that doesn't cause brain damage. Even listening to this the 30 seconds or so to glow before starting cold makes me want to drink profuse quantities of rum.

    High and low aspect headsails

I would like to get some oppinions and experiences regarding choosing a high aspect blade with little or no overlap vs. low aspect with overlap genoas. considering the sail area would be equal on both. This mostly involves higher wind conditions. As time goes by I find I am trending toward...

Wiring oil low pressure switch A-4

Doesn't anyone know how it's suppose to be wired? I've got one side connected to the Electric fuel pump and the other side connected to the positive side of the coil. My question is, is there a third wire connected to the coil side running to the starter soleniod? I've got a brown wire running...
