    E-37 for sale (broker listing)

Nice boat from the heyday of the IOR era. Very purposeful design. Narrow ends, high aspect-ratio sailplan. Probably still goes like a rocket and maneuvers like a weasel, but most of the power would be in the headsail, so could be a pain if you need to short tack up a narrow channel. Still...

    Mount Laptop for Nav Station

Consider a Mini-ITX Form Factor Computer System Laptops are not very rugged, unless you are willing and able to pay a couple of kilobucks for a ruggedized notebook like the Panasonic Toughbook. If you're up to the task of building your own PC from components (MOBO, case, power supply...

What's Involved in Purchasing a Boat Outside of the U.S.?

Just to tie the ribbons on this, I PMed Marc. It seems we're neighbors. Got my questions answered via Marine Documentation Services in Anacortes. Very helpful folks and very reasonable prices. Still looking.

What's Involved in Purchasing a Boat Outside of the U.S.?

Has anyone ever repatriated a boat to the U.S.? In other words, what's involved in purchasing a U.S. built boat in, in my case, Canada, and bringing it into the U.S., specifically, Washington state? I can imagine lots of red tape and arcane "gotchas" that I would not normally foresee.

    5432 exhaust elbow

Welllll, not really. It's not the salt so much as the environment within the exhaust system. The corrosion in the dry portion of the exhaust header proceeded from inside out. Here's how: There were no deck leaks, no salt spray that ever got down to where the engine is. The dry exhaust...

Part of why I love my Marina.

Enjoy what you've got. I just inquired and there's a 12 year waiting list in Dana Point for a slip.

    Alternative design for exhaust system?

Not much I can say except replace the hot section. If you have the height, you could install a wet elbow on a short vertical riser from the exhaust manifold and run downhill from there into an aqualift muffler, then run a loop upward as high as you can so the top of the loop is well above the...

Bruce King 41' - heavy weather

The skylight and transom show the influence of Hugh Angelman. His legacy lives on. (Yeah, I know it's a stale thread, but some things just have to be said. It's art, after all!)

    Got Design Questions?

Martin, Please Thank Your Dad for Me Hi Martin, I'm new here. Didn't know it was you, or perhaps more precisely, didn't know who your Dad was, when you replied to my message about the Angelman Ketch. I just figured it out. :) When I was 15 I met a couple in Newport Beach who had a new...

    5432 exhaust elbow

Not to whip a dead seahorse any longer than provides one enjoyment, but leaving a dry header pipe unwrapped belowdecks is an excellent way to start a fire, should something fall against it in a seaway. Like a fender from an adjacent cockpit locker. Don't ask me how I learned about that. 8^0...

    5432 exhaust elbow

Caution: I did that many years ago on our '67 Cal 34 which also had an Atomic-4. But only a few years later while motoring 35 miles uphill to Catalina island I lay down in the v-berth to take a nap. Dead flat calm, hatches and ports all open tiller-pilot on and friends in cockpit on watch...

    Nice looking 35 Mk 2 on-line

That's why they say sailboat racing is like standing fully clothed in a cold shower, tearing up $100 bills. I've always managed to race on OTHER people's boats. :egrin:

    Nice looking 35 Mk 2 on-line

No argument here. They're a very nice looking boat and one in really good shape might sell for that, given the right buyer who isn't aware of the going price. I remember when the 35-IIs came out. Was racing every weekend 'round the buoys on an Islander 30 Mk II then. Costa Mesa was within...
