Alternative design for exhaust system?

I have an Atomic 4 (gas) engine on Tune Inn (E27) and the lower pipe section (hot) connected to the heat riser (20in x 2.5 inch) of the exhaust system just collapsed. I can have the heat riser and pipes rebuilt, but I was wondering if anyone had discovered/designed a better exhaust for the Atomic 4 on an E27?

Not much I can say except replace the hot section. If you have the height, you could install a wet elbow on a short vertical riser from the exhaust manifold and run downhill from there into an aqualift muffler, then run a loop upward as high as you can so the top of the loop is well above the exhaust through-hull on the transom/counter.

You might want to take a look at this regarding dry exhausts:

Good info!

I have found a guy who will build the heat riser (parts and labor) for $50. If I can get the hot section manifold flange off of the exhaust header, I think I will be in business. If not, your additional info will be very helpful for a new design. Many thanks.
