    second battery bank

Doesn't the E29 have the batteries under the quarter berth like the E27 ? My boat has loads of room to build another box next to the existing one in that location. If not you could always relocate a through hull to a more convenient location.Of course that would mean hauling the boat but the...

What's the most useful modification you've made....

My new head sink.I had old rust stained formica and the cabinet face was all beat up.I had some onyx tile lying around so I made a template and cut it to fit,the tile was individual sheets,I put six together laid the template on top and marked it off.cutting was a bear but worth every minute.New...

E29 Finally launched after 2.5 year refit

Thanks for the info.I still have the deck to paint and would love to spray but can't trailer the boat and the marinas around here insist on the boat being tented if sprayed so it looks like I'll have to roll it on again which I'm sure like the hull will be a great improvement over the tired gelcoat.

E29 Finally launched after 2.5 year refit

Oh,got another one for you.Did you roll and tip the topsides? I painted my hull with perfection and found that no matter what I did I ended up with brush marks when tipping(probably because of the wind) so I did a lot of sanding and did the last two coats with just a roller.had some bubbles but...

E29 Finally launched after 2.5 year refit

Beautiful job! Well done! After having done some extensive work on my E27 I can relate to the amount of work you put into your boat, she looks lovely. Did you find any loss of performance when close hauled because of the new position of the shrouds? I Imagine you cannot sheet in quite as close as...

    Heat Exchanger Service Question...

It's the smallest submersible, little maroon colored pump.about 120 gph if I recall correctly.lc series. No the phosphoric is mild and will not harm the pump at all. When we serviced A/C units we used the same pumps for a year or more with muiratic acid before they eventually shorted out...

    Heat Exchanger Service Question...

I did some extensive research into this about a year ago when I bought my boat.I used to be in the air conditioning business and in air conditioning pickling you use muiratic acid which is very aggressive but not a problem when used on the copper coils found in marine air conditioners. I use a...

Water- where does it come in?

Check all the hose clamps on your fresh water supply,I had the whole tank leak into my bilge once. I'm not familiar with the E33 layout but it seems that the leak is definitely below the waterline from your description.

    E27 Leaky Window

Hi,just do a search for leaky portlights on this site and you'll find all you'r answers. But if it is one of the original Ericson portlights and is not corroded or bent beyond use you can remove it ,scrape off all the old sealer and re - seal with butyl tape available from any R.V or mobile home...

    E 29 Reefing Hook / Gooseneck question

Thanks for the excellent explanation Loren,I learned a lot from it,just goes to show what a newbie I really still am when it comes to different rigs.Makes good sense to have the fixed boom height and just hoist the sail instead of sail and boom together! My E27 has the sliding gooseneck and a...

    E 29 Reefing Hook / Gooseneck question

I don't mean to sidetrack this thread but napleskayak how on earth does your boom move up and down the mast with that setup ? It looks like the boom can only swivel from side to side !

Advice Needed - possible purchase of an e-27

As has been mentioned it all depends on the condition and equipment on the boat, upgrades ...etc. I paid $8 k for my E27 with a yanmar 2gm20f,sails in great shape and fairly recent standing rigging,a new bimini top and sail cover, auto pilot. Having said that I still have put tons of work into the...

    Installed AC today

Hi Chris, good job,it's great to have the boat nice and cool ! I couldn't help noticing that you intend buying an inverter to run your 16000 btu unit when away from the dock,I'm assuming you have at least 15 - 20 amps of charge to your batteries from solar panels or a wind generator otherwise it...
