    Xantrex Truecharge location

On my 32-3 the charger is located ahead of the refrigerator which sits on a shelf in the starboard locker in the cockpit under the winch. I think that is far enough up and forward so that it stays dry. I'm away from the boat so I can't send a photo.? Mike

Replacing fuel fill hose on E-32-3

Thanks for your replies. The existing hose isn't that bad. it feels solid and doesn't leave a diesel smell on a rag wiped on it. There are no markings on it so I doubt that it is the required A1 type hose required since when the tank is full there is fuel in the horizontal foot or so that exits...

Replacing fuel fill hose on E-32-3

Looking at my boat it's not immediately obvious how to go about replacing the hose that goes from the filler cap to the tank, it seems pretty inaccessible. Has anyone done this on a 32-3. If so how did you manage it. Any help would be much appreciated... Mike

    New Prop for 1988 E 32-3

My 32-3 with the 21 hp Universal engine was a nice match with a Michigan 3 blade 15 in diameter 10 pitch. When I repowered to a 25 hp Beta I decreased the pitch to 9 and cut a quarter inch off the radius making it a 14.5 in diameter. This was because the Beta runs at a higher rpm than the...

Fuel Tank Source 32-3 1987 Vintage

I am thinking of having Berry Sheet metal construct a new fuel tank for my 32-3. How well did your replacement work out? Did it fit etc. my present tank just sets against the hull, I'm thinking of adding brackets to elevate it bit to keep it from touching anything. Did you make any other...

    Running Lights trippping off!

It took me less than two hours to remove the anchor locker on my 32-3. The best tool was a flat-bladed screwdriver that I heated up and bent the last quarter inch or so at a right angle, this allowed me to cut the sealant under the lip and pry it up. The next best tool was a chisel to scrape the...

    Interior Wood Finish

I have an '86 32-3. Think it had some type of varnish. I've been using Epithanes Rubbed Effect which I like. Mike

    1987 Ericson 32 Will 6V Batteries/Fit?

I have a group 24 starting battery and a group 27 in that area. I think the box may have been modified.. can't remember. I also have two more group 27s located on the starboard side next to the waste bin just in front of the cockpit locker. All of this was done by the previous owner. In fact...

    Filling the Fresh Water Tanks?

I have a similar problem with my forward tank. I think that somehow water gets into the vent hose ( which goes down and then up) and blocks air from escaping. I've tried to blow air through the vent in the head in an attempt to clear it. What seems to work best is to run the water in slow enough...

    Throttle backwards

Thanks, I'll look in the pedestal again. At first glance it seemed like the sprocket was in the way. Mike

    Throttle backwards

I've just installed a Beta 25 in Magic. The only problem is that to make it go fast you pull back on the throttle and push forward to slow it down. This is counter-intuitive to me and I was wondering if anyone has developed an simple, elegant solution to this. I guess I need to put some type of...

    Battery monitor problems!

Had the same problem. I cleaned up the connecting wires etc. but still had the problem. On second look one on the wires to the link was almost broken through. I fixed that and that fixed my link!

    bilge water

Ahh Yes! Now that you mention it there is some (poor) access to the hose under the port side settee. Sorry that I forgot to mention it to you. Your solution is certainly more elegant than mine. If mine comes loose again I'll do what you did. Mike

    bilge water

Hmmm.. I was afraid that question would come up. In Magic the hose starts under the teak drain sump and ends up at the bottom port side of the mast bilge. I was going to do a bang up job of replacing the hose until it seemed like if I took the old hose out I might not be able to thread the new...

    bilge water

I had the same thing happen in our 32-3. There is a drain from the shower sump that drains via a short hose into the mast "bilge". If that hose connection fails (ours was fastened with sealant) where it enters the small mast bilge then that bilge will drain into the main bilge. (Somehow this...
