Recorring the Deck on a 36C

Joe, If you look up E-39B Pictures 1 thru 8 I think, you will see pictures of my re-coring project that I did. I did just what you are doing. You cant see it becasue it is not in the pictures but I feathered the fiberglass back around the areas where I cut out the balsa. Then for my fiberglass...

New windlass and chain ... great !

Lucky Dog, I have a two batteries just aft of the engine. One for starting the engine, one for the windlass. The windlass breaker is also right next to the battery. I ran cable like Sevn did. It works like a charm. House batteries are a different bank. Mike Tinder s/v Sea Maid E-39B

Grinding FG surface for new attachment and tabbing

fiberglass work Sven, The 36 grit sanding disk is what I put on my grinder for roughing up the glass. I think they are the best way to go. It is all I use. If I am doing fine fairing I will use the 50 grit disk, so I do not take to much off. Good luck. Mike

New windlass and chain ... great !

Anchor wash down pump Sven, We bought a Jabsco pump, nothing fancy, says 5.0 on the outside so I think that is a fare amount of water and water pressure. I will fiberglass in a small shelf in the chain locker this spring. That is what I will mount the pump on. I am going to put the shelf about...

E-39B Galley Counter Cut Out for above stove

Here are a couple of pictures of how I cut the counter top above the stove. I used three of those flush type hinges. I also did a U-Shaped cut out of the piece of stainless steel on the back of the stove so we could put really big pots/pans on the big burner (sea food). They would not sit right...

New windlass and chain ... great !

Washdown pump Sven, I will have to pull it out of the locker I have on my pier and check the name. I still have to make a seperate purchase for the wash down hose/nozzle. I want the one that will plug into a socket on the deck. I saw them on line but cannot remember where. Mike

    E-39B Galley/Floorboards

Forgot to mention some stuff about my E-39 Projects/Upgrades post and pictures. I made drop in fiddles for the galley stuff, that way (when underway that is) when you open a galley cupboard door you do not get a suprise. Just lift the fiddle out of your way to get what you want. The door knobs...

    New rudder in work

Very Cool I too cannot wait to hear how the boat handles. That should really make a huge difference. I know our E-39B is hell to back out of our slip. I will be posting some pictures soon of my galley changes. Very cool all the good work you are doing to that beautiful boat/home. Mike S/V Sea...

    E-39B Pictures 1

Counter Top Reply Mort, I used formica from Lowe's. I used a heat gun to remove the old formica, after removing the sink and wood trim. You have to take your time heating it, but it comes right up. I then used adhesive remover to remove all the glue off the plywood, then a lite sanding...
