Here are a couple of pictures of how I cut the counter top above the stove. I used three of those flush type hinges. I also did a U-Shaped cut out of the piece of stainless steel on the back of the stove so we could put really big pots/pans on the big burner (sea food). They would not sit right on the stove top until I did this cut. Does not effect the strength of the stove at all.
Having the stainless steel back splash is quite handy, especially when you live aboard.
All I had to move was the wood behind the stove that determines how far the counter drops into the hull.
