    Masthead sheaves frozen.

Some years back I replaced the sheaves on my Ericson 27. My sheaves were worn and a hallard would jam. I had sheaves made by Zephyrwerks, https://www.zephyrwerks.com/ Their work is excellent. I took advantage of having the mast out to install larger diameter pins that Zephyrwerks supplied...

Which sail slugs do you have on your E27

My old main has A014 slugs and they are very loose in the track. I might be getting a new main and I’m curious to know what others may be using.

Where do purchase your Oberdorfer impeller Kits?

I need to replace the seals in addition to the impeller so I'm looking for the kit.

Where do purchase your Oberdorfer impeller Kits?

I can't remember where I purchased impeller kits the last time and I'm curious to know where some of you are getting them... For now, I'm mostly interested in the 10725 kit for Oberdorfer 202m3 and m7 pumps.

Do you have experience w/ Sailrite's White Butyl Tape?

I'll probably buy the Butyl Tape from him as well.... I believe that I read that white butyl isn't as sticky because of minerals added to it.

Do you have experience w/ Sailrite's White Butyl Tape?

I'm trying to decide what to use when bedding my handrails and some other deck fittings. The white Trimmable-Butyl-Tape that Sailrite sells is one possibility. http://www.sailrite.com/Trimmable-Butyl-Tape-3-4-Bedding-Deck-Hardware-Sealant? Does anybody have experience with this product?

    Preparing teak handrails for installation...

It's my understanding that the mounting surfaces needed to be sealed to prevent the Butyl from drying out.

    Preparing teak handrails for installation...

Should the surfaces that will be bedded onto the cabin top be sealed or given a coat of varnish before installation? I've never used Butyl Tape before but I'm leaning in that direction... Any suggestions? I will be doing the drilling and epoxy filling routine of the holes on the...

Question on converting head sail for furler?

If your current genoa still has some life in it I think I would pay to have the luff tape installed. I did my own conversion following the instructions of Sailrite... Many people wouldn't approve of the job but we were very happy to be finished with hanked on sails.

    E27 masthead sheaves

I had custom sheaves made by Zephyrwerks a few years ago. I took advantage of the opportunity and installed larger pins. I also had the sheaves made a little wider since there was adequate width to do so. It won't change the price to have them made exactly as you want. I may have paid a...

    E27 fuel tank replacement

When I replaced the fuel tank in my E27 it was already its second tank. It was aluminum and the bottom was wasted out of it. I decided to go with a smaller plastic tank that has suited us just fine. I'm curious, what is the price difference between aluminum and stainless steel?

1.25 stuffing box and 1.3 shaft log

I have had several conversations with people at Buck Algonquin during the past two weeks. Apparently, they have only been selling the 1.25" stuffing box hose for a couple of years. I just bought a new 3/4" Aquamet 22 shaft from General Propeller in Florida for my E27. I'm very happy with the...

E27 Toilet Water Through Hull Valve Access

I took a look at my head yesterday.... The thru-hulls for my head are mounted on angled side. Is there any access to the valves through the V-birth locker?

E27 Toilet Water Through Hull Valve Access

Try a basin wrench... I believe that a basin wrench would have been helpful. I have an E27 and I don't recall having any special issues when I changed out my thru hull fittings.
