    E25 Rudder

 Well it happened. While out for an extended sail my brother yelled LOG and then BANG!!! Broken rudder. Not only the rudder but also the top casting which includes the top gudgeon and tiller mount. The gudgeon is ok but the tiller mount is shot. We were able to jury rig it and made the 40...

    Turn buckle adjusters

I'm looking for 2 turn buckle adjusters for the shrouds on my E-25. I thought about making some until I saw that half of the rod is right hand thread and the other half is left hand thread. Don't have a 1/4 x 28 left hand die so............ Good used would be great.

    Meat Storage

Sorry about sounding a bit harsh. I usually use one word where two will do. Yes home canning can be safe but many cases of food poisoning do occur because some people don't completely understand the process and for example maybe modify the process to fit their equipment or unknowingly use...

    Meat Storage

As a retired Food Technologist with many years of commerical canning experience, I see in the above posts practices which are down right dangerous. First, if you home can be very sure you follow the instructions to the letter whether from Ball or any other reliable source. Also very...

    Gulf Coast Marina

Sailing here in Illinois is real poor this time of year -- so ----- my brother and I are making plans to tow my E25 to the Gulf. I'm up for suggestions as to where might be a good spot to launch the boat and store my PU/trailer while we're on the water (8 - 10 days). The E25 draws 2' with the...

    Replacing Vinyl in Berths

In the past I've used contact cement on headliners, vinyl and other fabrics. Contact cement gives you a lot of open time while you move things around before final attachment. I use wood dowels and wax paper to keep the two surfaces apart while everything is being lined-up. When things are...

    Steaming/Anchor light

I'm getting ready to do some rewiring. I'd like to free up a position on the breaker panel by combining the switches for the steaming and anchor lights. Using a DPST switch with center off would do the trick. Is there any reason to have these lights on at the same time? I can't think of any.

    E-25 hull shape

I've had my '74 E-25 for about 3 months or so and I'm very happy with it so far. Moving up from a Hunter 23 has made a lot of difference. I do have a design question. On boats this size and smaller with centerboards or fixed keels, I've noticed that the hull aft of the keel has a gentle...

    New User Ranks/Titles?

Titles?? Being a new member I also wondered about the titles. Coming from another site (Hunter), I soon found out which memebers were active and which were not. You also learn the personalities of the members and which members have something worth saying (or not). Along with my new old E25...

How do I find my sail number?

For what it's worth My recently aquired '74 E25 has the hull number sewn on the spinnaker. This appears to be original to the boat. Don't have the original main so I can't say what might have been on it.

EY.c Future: Is EY.c a 'useful' site? How could we improve it?

Being a new owner I find the site useful. Coming from a Hunters, Starwinds etc., I feel I know my way around sailboats but each model has it's own "nature". It's good to find others who have broken trail and make life easier.

    Lexan Hatch Cover Tops

The comments about using special plastic drill bits and pan head fittings are valid. Anything you can do to prevent stress risers will reduce/prevent cracking. Also, acylic will serve better than poly in the long run.
