    Any Ericson Owners on Lake Texoma?

    Wow, it has been a while since I looked at this thread I started about four years ago. Good to see so many Ericson owners around the state. We sold Freeform a couple of years ago but she is still at Cedar Mills being sailed by the current owners. Today I posted in the "Raftup" secton of this...

    Sad Looking E35

    It really was sad to see such a great boat in a late stage of degradation. I don't know any details but I think the marina is dismantling this fine craft. The companionway hatch has been continuosly open through rain events. Sighted at Cedar Mills Marina on Lake Texoma near Gordonville, Texas...

    E39 winch upgrade to electric winches?.

    Or this from Sailrite? They would be prime candidates for going overboard I guess.

    Ericson 30+ Roller furler

    Hello Mark, I finally found a rigger near here and was thinking about the Harken in place of the CDI I now have (without the scaaaaaarce 'cam-activator'). The rigger talked me out of the Harken and into a CDI FF9 with a horror story about a Cal 27 he worked on that had a fairly current Harken...

    Bimini Decision

    Wow, beautiful canvas work! Was it a company in NC that did the canvas and frame? Graham

    Bimini Decision

    Greetings, I'm taking the low road. For my 30+ I bought, through Amazon, a cheap ($120) bimini with aluminum frame and unpedigreed polyester fabic. Haven't installed it yet but it is the right width and height plus long enough. I will use it to get a plan together for a possibly improved...

    Wanted --> Cam Activator

    Wanted --> Cam Activator

    Hey Paul, Thanks, Freeform resides in slip H16. I am also trying Grandpappy's. They used to be a CDI dealer. Also getting a quote on a new version. Practical Sailor rated CDI high in their last review of furlers. What slip is your boat in?

    Wanted --> Cam Activator

    CDI gave up on this design approach in subsequent models and their tech support knows nothing about this old, old stuff. I really wonder how nicely it works in practice -- like a stuck furler drum in a heavy wind and you have to get the sail down in a hurry. Where the heck is the cam activator...

    Wanted --> Cam Activator

    Paul, On second look, I believe that is the fitting that goes on the sail pennant that I highlighted below -- it hooks on the cam that is tripped by the activator. The second picture in a better description of the cam activator from the CDI manual. Perhaps you may have this part too??

    Wanted --> Cam Activator

    Hello, Thanks for the suggestion. The worst part is that the sail is up and I know of no way to lower it without going aloft to manually flip the 'cam' which serves as a latch to hold the sail up. With the headsail up, the halyard is not longer used until the cam activator come into use with a...

    Wanted --> Cam Activator

    Hello Paul, Oh wow! I believe that is it! I didn't expect that it would be that well finished. Please advise on how I can compensate you for it. Looks like you are in North Texas? Thanks much! Graham
