Thanks to Trickdhat, who suggested starting a new sub-forum to specifically address more broadly based approaches and techniques to safely operating the Ericson hull (and indeed any sailboat)!

The goal of this forum is to help the community to become better pilots by learning from each other's experiences, and sharing background both on when it worked - and when it did not (and why). Techniques and applications can be discussed specifically to the hull that it originated from, but approaches/solutions discussed in a manner that could be applied to all hulls if possible (so it's useful to all readers).
You guys have lots of invaluable knowledge and skills - so let's document some of them! If you can, please forward me ideas for broad categories (docking, cross-wind maneuvering, anchoring, towing, anchor dragging, gale prep, etc) and I'll call a prefix that people can use to cut up the information developed here! If this sub-forum grows sufficiently, we may just bump it up into one of main forums!

A sub-forum dedicated to discussions on specific methods used by our owners in maneuvering their boats in an effective and safe manner. Includes discussions which specifically address the originating condition, but approach boat handling so it can be applied across all Ericson hull classes.
