Stuffing Box Troubles ... I think

I replaced my stuffing box and am not sure if I am seeing the right results. I used the flax size recommended by the dealer who supplied it. I used a Teflon based flax. It was very challenging to get into the packing nut. I had to push in in carefully with a screwdriver and use a little Teflon grease and was only able to get two in. I was told that was normal and should be fine. I only hand tightened it.

I am getting some dripping while motoring but very little. I am also noticing a greasy, greenish, somewhat solid discharge that I can only assume is bits of flax. Needless to say I am concerned.

Anybody seen this? Is this normal?
