Whisker pole or spinnaker pole
What makes it a whisker pole and not a spinnaker pole? Seems really big to be a whisker pole.

Length
A spinnaker pole is a "set" length(single tube) based on the fore-triangle dimensions(for racing). Whisker Poles are "adjustable" to fit various jibs. They do tend to be overbuilt. Mines a "monster" for an E23.
With some modifications WP's CAN be used as SP's. You need a lift and a down-haul, possibly a removable "bridle".

I was on a boat a long time ago where I took a lesson about how to fly a spinnaker. What a pain!! The instructor/captain suggested an asymmetrical spinnaker and after I bought one (for my last boat) I was hooked. When I lifted the "whisker pole" off the deck of my E32-3 for the first time I knew I'd never want to use that baby! I'm too old to be swinging a thing like that around on the foredeck!
