If you enlarge the title photo, the twin aft boarding ladders are kind of unusual yet practical.
His comments about single handing are thoughtful, as well.

I am proud to me a member of the SSS here is San Francisco. Some of the nicest people and so many great sailors. While I have yet to do any of the many races they put on outside the bay, the ones in the bay are a hoot!

Loren, I agree with you on those ladders. I haven't been able to find anything quite like them in my searches yet.

The ladders look like standard swim platform ladders (example). It looks like he cut the black "toe rail" to make a flat mounting surface (hard to tell from the picture).

Using teak handrails to make a bulwark / toe rail on the foredeck is clever too.
