Running Backstays on 32-3

I installed a removable inner forestay last year to accommodate a storm jib. I have the sail, so now I need to think about removable running backstays (dyneema). I have the T-termini for the mast that go with dyneema eye-splices.

I ordered the fiddle blocks from Garhauer last night, so it's time to think about where to anchor them at each quarter.
--> Would you recommend some sort of sturdy U-bolt though the toe-rail (bail on inside, nuts on outside), or a sturdy padeye in the deck with a suitable backing plate, and in a place where the underside is accessible? I can think or pros and cons with both. ;-)
