I installed a Furuno 1620 Radar on a E-27

I just wanted to thank all that helped in my decision to install a transom radar mast on my 1973 E-27. I installed a Furuno 1620 with a Edson mast kit. It took around 10 hours for the installation because there were a couple of parts that needed to be fabricated.

What did you need to fabricate?

Just wondering what needed to be fabricated and to what extent? Was it for the pole mount or for the display mount?

BTW, nice looking installation.

I had to create a support under the deck of the transom for a backing plate for the mast base bracket. I also had to create a wedge under the base bracket to keep teak mast level. I made both out of Teak. I also had to create a teak extension tor the swivel screen mounting bracket I purchased from West Marine.

I may make that extension longer and have it slide back and fourth for better viewing from the cock pit.

Not too bad. Took the better part of a Saturday to complete the job. Thanks for the complement.
