I was going through some old boxes and came across some classic old
Ericson tearsheets I had saved. This 46 ad takes the prize for macho, sexist,
bluster!! Ahhh, the good old days. For your enjoyment...

<a href="http://s128.photobucket.com/albums/p200/cruizin31/?action=view&current=ericson46.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p200/cruizin31/ericson46.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

That is a real hoot! Sort of like what I imagine you would get if you asked the "Mad Men" folks at Sterling-Cooper-Draper-Price to do an ad for Ericson.

Any idea who the ad agency was for Ericson when these ads were done? Working in advertising myself, I am very curious.

Ericson Ad

Hi Martin, Thanks for the look at the ad - pretty cool! Do you by chance know the date it was published?
Thanks!

That ad would have been 1971 vintage. The gentleman doing the
ads for Ericson at that time was named Ed Greer. In todays world of
political correctness, you will never see anybody running copy like
that. I still grin every time I see it. When was the last time a boat
ad did that for you? That last paragraph is priceless!
