I have recently purchased a Ericson 32-2 in November, and an item that I need cleared up is that the keel has a deep sump behind the ballast. This seems to be part of the design configuratiion. Is there access from the bilge to this area as I cannot see, because of where the cabin sole access cutouts are placed. Has this caused any trouble for owners? The keel does have a drain plug on the bottom of the keel too. I looked at another E32-2 and that boat also has a drain plug on the keel bottom. How thick is the keel sides where it is hollow.
