A trick I learned from the Garhaeur site when we ordered a rigid vang was to take a piece of solder, wrap it around the mast or boom (half of it), then set it down on a piece of paper and trace the inside of the solder. It works like a charm. Then you could flip it around and do the other half of the mast.
