I have an Ericson 38, 1983 version that had a piece of teak between 2 and 3 inches thick that mounted on top of the YS binnacle, and the compass mounted on top of that piece of wood. The wood is now gone, rotted and fell apart when I removed the compass to inspect it. Anyone know the thickness of that wood, as I am assuming they all had that wood or some type of plastic extrusion. I am also considering using an acrylic replacment, but the varnished wood looks nicer. I am open for suggestions and info?
