    CNG to propane conversion

Lol, good, cuz I glued the angled panel at the bottom down around the edges when I reseated it (after prying it up to fish the sniffer thru). The screws were kinda stripped, and I thought it might be smart to help seal those seams. I'm sure I could get it back off if I wanted, but really don't...

    CNG to propane conversion

I ended up passing the supply hose thru some 1" pvc pipe that I secured to the liner with pieces copper hanger strap that I bent into little "d" shapes. I forgot to take pictures, and have a bit of work left to do to put in the straight thru. Will share when I get back to the boat next weekend...

    The real scoop on dewinterization?

Fair enough. I'm not certain the current setup is plumbed to heat from the engine, but will take a look and rethink my plan. I really just need a way to get down in there without going in headfirst like I've been doing - it's a long drop onto my neck if I screw up I just did a diesel engine...

    CNG to propane conversion

What did you all use to secure the supply hose on its way from the locker to the appliance? The current CNG installation my boat came with is.... Just a bunch of hose laying on the shelf in the lazarette...

    The real scoop on dewinterization?

Yeah I think the intent was just to have hot water on shore power. At the very least removing the hot water tank would give me room to climb down into the lazarette. Prolly will evaluate for a season before i do anything drastic tho.

    The real scoop on dewinterization?

Mine is Universal M18 (which I think is a 14 HP).

    The real scoop on dewinterization?

Is there like... Are impellers and filters like standard parts, or do i need specific ones for my engine? The boat is on the hard about 4 hours away, and I'm planning on going to do work next weekend - it's most efficient to buy parts ahead if possible, so just wondering what stuff I can start...

    The real scoop on dewinterization?

Thank you guys for all the great advice. Ordered the book Frank recommended - should get here tomorrow, and I'm excited to dig into it. Hadn't thought of the water heater - I'm honestly considering ripping it out and getting a small tankless/on-demand heater. I knew it sounded super fishy to...

    The real scoop on dewinterization?

This past fall I bought an '85 E30+ - my first larger keelboat, first with holding tanks or an inboard engine. She's going in the water April 19th, and the reality is rapidly setting in that I have no idea how to dewinterize anything. The previous owner has been kind enough to give me his notes...

    CNG to propane conversion

That makes a lot of sense - thank you! I also have the manufacturer-built propane locker, but hadn't thought to check if a BBQ tank would fit. Regarding the "gravity drain to atmosphere" etc - is the manufacturer-built locker typically set up that way by default, or is this something I would...

    CNG to propane conversion

Honest question, possibly ignorant: is there a functional/practical difference between the LPG tanks peaman mentioned and a normal BBQ grill tank? Is there a specific reason to avoid the latter (assuming they fit in the propane locker)? I know I can get replacement BBQ cylinders at the gas...

    CNG to propane conversion

How in the world did you manage this?! Crazy luck? I saw one on fb marketplace pop up this morning and it was gone within an hour or two. Owner never even responded to me before marking it sold.
