    Setting off around the world!

After sailing my E27 for 7 yrs, I've had my 1975 #413 E35-2 for the past two years on NJ coast. And liveaboard full-time the past year.(only way to know a boat, lol) Pryer owner refitted and I tightened her up(In many ways) in preparation for...

Opinions on sealant for through hulls

Hi, just my experience and opinion after 40+ yrs of my total 5 sailboats ..thru hulls on the exterior- 5200 no question. West system every where else. Although I used 5200 under backing plates on interior too. I don't plan on ever redoing them, feel secure and really isn't that bad as people...

    NJ intracoastal / Wildwood

Hi, I've lived in the area (wildwood) many years. Cape May/Wildwood is NOT a sailboat friendly area,(except for the harbor) as it is basically a fishing area. All the sailboats are at Bayway marina in CMCH where the creek(deep enough) leads out to the Delaware bay in a nice area of the bay. A...

    35-2 Cored hull?

I have a 1975 E35-2 and did three thru-hulls this past spring and a transducer. It's a solid hull. I did find that all the thru-hulls have raised fiberglass around as mentioned. I had to "custom" make the backing plates to accommodate that. Leaving for FL. and the Bahamas from NJ in eight...

    tough time removing old lettering

I had the same issue on my Ericson 35-2 1975, it was on there since day one! In the end I sanded it off and repainted the transom, the original paint was still showing the name on it. Check out one of the 4 videos I have posted on YouTube I show a shot of the transom and it turned out nice. Good...

    Some pictures of my E35-2

Hi all, I pretty sure this would fall under function. Just thought I'd share the small video I took of my E35-2 1975 #413 "Dijan" After 6 sailboats and 40 yrs of sailing I think I found my home! (prior E27 Celtic Sea). I wanted to document and share really for the kids and family my...

E32-2 Anyone do anything with that useless bunk across from the dinette?

Hi, I have the same boat, same thing, though 1975. That space the PO put the large numbers for CG Requirements on the back wall of that area. Ya, I just use it for blanket storage, nothing really, why did they make that box there anyway, unless they thought some 7' guy was crew! lol Check out...

    Setting off around the world!

Great info! Hi, subscribed to the channel, awesome! I put together a channel as well to start sharing the (Ericson) experience. I'm living aboard my E35-2 1975. (Have been sailing for over 40 years, she is my 6th sailboat and the last) It's been refitted but still needs a bunch of stuff, this...

    E35-2 Mainsheet traveler

Hi, one question I'm sure someone has a thought. The traveler line terminates at a fiddle with Cam cleat. Problem is it's facing the cockpit away from where I'm steering in the well at the rear. What do I need to make this work? It's set up perfect for the tiller and working from main cockpit...

    Need new windlass.

Hi, what model 35 do you have? I have a 1975 E35-2 and it doesn't have one installed(ever). Also no anchor roller. I'm currently looking at my options on installing a roller and windlass.(hopefully if funds permit!) Planning on traveling down ICW to FL. Oct. 2018 and this is one item on my list...

    tough time removing old lettering

I just did this one my 35. I had to scrape the letters off with a one edge blade scraper then tried goo-off for the glue, gave up on that and the name impression was so permanent. I put a disc on the sander and sanded the whole transom and repainted. Turned out great!, picking up new vinyl name...
