What does your anchor light look like? The anchor light on my 1989 E-38 was the same as in this picture that Loren posted previously. Is yours the same? Is your Ericson one of the Pacific Seacraft ones, or the last of the originals?
Some else might know of an LED bulb to fit this unit, but I never found one and ended up replaceing the entire unit to be able to mount an LED bulb.
The one in Steve's post is what was on ours...
Best solution we found was to take up an "Orcagreen" LED anchor light... not rediculously expensive, very durable, allows for reducing the size of wire SIGNIFICANTLY the next time your mast is down, and best of all uses the same amount of electricity all night that the old one did in an hour...
If my records are correct, the bulb that fits that fixture is a Perko #71, which I think is only 1 1/8" long.
I just noticed that this is supposed to be a combination masthead and all round light, depending on whether one or both of the bulbs are lit. Why did Ericson use this fixture?

Yeah, I did it and have been really happy with it. We went with the LED bulb theory down in the cabin- I am really happy with the ones I put in the reading lights, but will be replacing all the overhead fixtures with LED's (other than in the head) because the festoon bulbs are too blue...
One thing about LED festoons, the ones I could find only shine 1 direction... let me know if you find some that shine more directions since maybe they'll have some that will fit the overheads to replace the ones I currently am using.
thx,
Chris
Try www.doctorled.com. They have the replacement LED bulb you need:nerd:
Dan,
I checked with doctorled. Unfortunatley they do not make a replacement LED bulb for the Perco #71, which I believe is my anchor light bulb. They are reportedly working on it and may have one by 2009.
