Whisker pole

Has anyone on this site contructed their own whisker pole for an E23 MKII ? If so the info would be helpful, thanks.

Mine came with one and I rarely use it. It might be over sized for the 23, and as I mentioned in the link below it mostly lives in the basement.

It needs to be adjustable(sliding tubes) unless your only using it for one fixed, non furling, sail.

I made my own

SLMROD,
I made my own fixed length pole for our E32-3. Our club PHRF handicapper said my max length could be 14' 6 3/8 inches for my 130 sail. I made it out of 3 inch ABS drain pipe necked down to 2 inch PVC on the ends. It is 14' 6 inches long. I use a 1/2 inch X 6 inch rod for the clew end of the pole and bought a Forespar end clip for the mast eye end. It is light, easy to rig and lets me really pole out the jib for wing N wing sailing.
But, I must confess, this is my 3rd or 4th attempt at making a pole for our E32-3. The first ones were smaller diameter and broke! I can snap some pics if you want to know more. Jerry email "griggs@centurytel.net".
