Volvo MS Transmission Question
I asked an oldtimer (read: experienced) mobile Volvo marine mechanic if the MS transmission could be used in reverse for extended periods of time...the intent being to replace my left hand propellor with a right hand one, and just run in reverse. His answer confused me.
He said you dont want to do that, but you can change the shifter. I didnt want to press him for details since he was on the clock for another job, and I was asking for free advice, and I know how annoying it is when people ask me for a "minute" to answer their "quick question" (which never are).
Does anyone care to hazzard an opinion on what he meant?
Does anyone have an old MS lying around I could buy cheap?
Thanks,
D. H.
