Trouble removing fuel tank

This is great news. Fortunately, the tank already has a sender and so there is a nice small hole. It's funny because it has alumnimum screws as you recommend and they are odd looking being so big relative to steel. It's big enough to see into the tank but not much more. I can see the tank has some sludge, but not too much and that the interior looks like good aluminum.

I'll look around town here for an alumnimum welder and see what they charge for the job.

Boy it will be nice to pop the same tank back in and know it will fit. :egrin:
