Trottle Broken

I have a 1976 E27 with a broken throttle lever. When I went to start it up and adjust the throttle the lever was seized. To make matters worse, the (what looks like brass) throttle shaft that is in the center of the gear lever is now sheared off. I looked through some old threads and didn't see another similar topic. Both the throttle and drive gear cables are free and move easily. The bar that is sheared looks like it is a 3/8" diameter hex with about 5" in length and has a female threaded attachment for a bolt that the throttle cable attaches to one on end. The end that broke is about flush with the cover plate of the gear lever.

Any one ran in to this before? Easy fix? Is the shaft a solid one piece or is it multiple? Would stainless be better than what appears to be bronze or brass? Anyone know the manufacturer and if they still have an available supply of parts?
Thanks for the help,
KJ
