surveyor suggested adding engine oil to fuel--agree?

A surveyor with over 20 years experience suggested that adding a quart/litre of engine oil to the diesel fuel would help lubricate the injectors and make the engine run quieter, especially with less sulphur added to fuel these days. I am hearing mixed opinions among my fellow sailors. Any thoughts on whether this is a good idea?
I already add a diesel fuel conditioner which I would likely discontinue if I add the oil.

There are much better and more environementaly friendly ways!

There are much better additives, which work better for the engine, and for the environment!

Even two cycle oil is better than standard lube oil.
