I wonder if the engine location makes a difference in where the shaft emerges? Some years it was under the settee IIRC.

yes the shaft position is different for the two engine placements. My boat has the mid engine and the prop is MILES from the rudder..... with the resulting control issues ; |
Obviously the forward strap goes under the bow area where the hull meets the keel. Watch out for speedo impeller if in that area. For the aft strap, I ask the yard to lift the strap once it has been moved past the rudder and slide it along the hull to a position near where the cabin trunk ends. I have the initial position and the final positions marked for them. If they position the strap simply to avoid the prop/shaft, it is too far back for a solid lift.

Thanks for the referral to prior thread. She has aft mounted engine so the previous pics show it perfectly
