Replacing hanks on headsail and found some wear on the sail.

Working on replacing hanks on my headsail and I have some wear where the hanks were. Is this something I can repair to keep the sail from wearing more and if so how would I go about it?
Thanks.

Welcome aboard, Jim. Lots of E27 members here.

If it were me I'd just put some tape on it. Looks like normal wear, and any padding ought to extend life.

Hood Sails used to wrap plastic like used in dodger windows around the luff with a hole in it that slipped over the end of the hank hook. Or you could take the time to serve that with sail thread like a finished bitter end of a line (am I the only person who still does this?). Might be a lot of work. You also could use rigging chafe tape. Just ideas.
