I need to remove a transducer installed in the hull this summer bedded with 4200. Suggestions concerning method to dig out the 4200 and any solvents to remove the 4200. Is hair dryer or soldering iron heat useful?

transducer removal

i would use hardwood wedges to open up the seam between the hull and transducer. use 3 or 4 and pound them in around the transducer. apply equal force. once the seam is open use a putty knife heated with a heat gun to cut the 4200. there is also a bondbreaker for 5200 on the market try fisheriessupply.com. make your wedges about 3or 4 inches long tapering from nothing to about 5/8' thick. shouldnt be too hard since you used 4200. good luck.
