Yeah, I sprayed the track before I slid the sail (Rope) in, but I think I should have sprayed the sail as well. I also need a new outhaul line. That should do it.

You could always just take it out of the boom, and leave it out...

I'd be concerned that the last slug would not be well enough reinforced for that sort of loose-footed use. (You'd have to keep the aft-most slug in the track or the leach would be too full/the boom would be too low).Nigel Barron said:

The single end "slug" on our O-34 loose-foot main is bronze, FWIW.
