Lost main halyard

There is No halyard! Internal, can send up man.
Ericson 38 1982, in water.
Do I need to remove mast cap? Bike chain method?
Any other ideas from you brilliant folks?
Please remember she is on mooring (no docks or facilities).
For your information...
Always have a figure eight or Big Stopper Knot in lazy end of All halyards..
Went bend on main and its not to be found?
But do have new one.

Can easily be done at the mooring, but need at least two people. Three is better.
