Leaving for a month

I will be leaving e28 for a month in slip in St Petersburg Fl. Should I remove sails or make other preparations before I leave? Thanks!

Hi Tom,

Welcome aboard the forum.

Just one take on it: if the slip is usually secure I'd just check the dock lines, make sure the exposed canvas doesn't flap and not worry about it. If there's a person in charge, or a frequent worker on the dock, you could ask them to keep an eye out and call you if they see a problem. Theft? New outboards are a popular target, otherwise lock things below.

Is it hurricane season? Then you really do need somebody to call who can do early storm prep before you hightail it back.

Cheers,
Christian

I would add that you of course should close every single seacock. I think closing every seacock is a good idea whenever you leave the boat - but that's an argument for a different thread.
