Hello,
I noticed water dripping from the bottom of my raw water pump on my
Ericson 28+ Universal model 5411 diesel. I bought new gaskets and a pair of
the round metal replacement seals to see if that would solve the leaking. I
would like to know if there is any thing special I need to do when I replace the
gaskets? I took the pump shaft out and cleaned everything thoroughly. Do
I need to use any kind of sealer or treatment on the gaskets before I
remount the pump? The parts dealer said if it still leaked I would need to
replace the metal seals, has anyone done this?
