Larger mainsail on E-23

I am the new owner of a 1975 E 23. It came with two mainsails. One featured in the original manual and another much larger one (with another larger boom). Does anyone know if the E-23 can be sailed with or even needs a larger mainsail? I can’t seem to find anything out there beside the standard mainsail.

Never heard of needing a longer boom on any smaller Ericson. There must be a 'story' behind that boom and sail. (?)
Are there class emblems and numbers on both sails?

Great point. I’ll check the larger mainsail again. The one I use currently has the E23, but if the larger one says 23 I will be confused!
