I need a new bracket for the companion way ladder (photo attached). Anyone know where to get one of those?

They're called "ladder locks." I bought new ones some years ago. Maybe this:

I did away with that style of ladder lock entirely feeling is was insecure the day it was installed. Instead I went with a pivoting toggle. My engine is mounted under the dinette seat so access to the engine does not require ladder removal but it is nice to pivot it out of the way for more foot room when working in the galley.

I agree about potential instability, although many Ericsons seat the ladder feet in teak captures on the sole.

In a violent seaway I found that the stock ladder locks could detach if when grabbing the ladder and mounting it certain vertical forces lined up. Yikes. I corrected that with a single temporary screw to keep the ladder from rising.

As always, thanks for all the great ideas. What started out as just a repair of worn screw holes has turned into a project :)
