‪Saw this on the Port Of LA Facebook page yesterday for #‎TBT‬ to 1908 Chart when the Port of Los Angeles was just a year old! Check out the view of L.A. Harbor back then. San Pedro was a small town, Wilmington was a lagoon and Terminal Island was a beach. Boy a lot had changed. The B&W Chart is from 1908, the Color one is more current.

That's very cool.

Did they happen to mention whether there was a downloadable version of the 1908 chart anywhere? I'd love to find one.

Ah, for the good old days! Just look at the vast open but sheltered area for sailing!

Even when I was sailing here back in the early 70's it was much more open, before Pier 400 encroached massively on our sailing grounds.
