Kidde Fire Extinguishers with Plastic Nozzle and Fire Threats

Extinguisher size roulette

I talked with Kidde Customer Support today. They told me that the extinguishers may not be replaced with the same size, so there you go.

I had submitted three to be replaced but only two showed up. The Customer Service rep asked for repeat information from one of the ones I had already reported and agreed to ship me another. Said I should see it in 10-15 business days. She also confirmed that we do send the recalled extinguishers back.

Guess I'll see what size they ship.

For my home use that's no big deal. But on a boat, size matters!

All of mine were replaced with the proper unit (white marine model from the photo above) in 3 shipments, and I returned all of the old ones as instructed. I ended up with an extra one, and when I contacted Kidde, they said that I could either ship it back, or keep it as a Christmas present from them- so I said thank you very much (and kept it).
