Help! Need info on a 1969 E-26

Is there anyone who knows what the transom is supposed to look like on an outboard, 1969 E-26? I am looking at purchasing one, but it has a cutout (weird looking) and I don't know if it is a diy job or not. I have pictures, but for some reason, this site won't let me post them. Can anyone here give me an e-mail address that is willing to look at the photos and let me know if it is a diy?

I realize this is a weird question, I have no way of contacting the owner (marina is selling). Thanks for any help.

A friend of ours sailed a Mk 1 E-26 for quite a few years. I remember that it looked about like this pic. The motor was in a well, and the transom cut out allowed it to tilt up when at the dock. I do not, OTOH, recall all that teak trim across the top.
Anyone else recall the details?
