Please note my comments about furling genoas and predetermined "reef" reductions are just my opinions-just because my preference is to set the genoa just to the size needed for the conditions does not mean a sail that has reinforcing pacthes at specific locations is a bad sail, or that it won't work as well.

Your point about how the sail stretched under load and the patches no longer lining up is valid and frequently seen, and in my view supports the idea that these are of marginal value...

But you are completely correct that if the sail is serving you well and you are happy then you have no basis to change or complain!
