I have a 85 E32-3 with a universal M25 I've been digging around the engine compartment and see the shaft packing gland needs some TLC. the nut, retainer nut, shaft need a good cleaning. I'd like to replace the rubber hose but don't know the diameter of the fiberglass shaft tube. So two part question, what's the diameter and what type/thickness of packing is recommended. Is this a simple task? I'm pretty mechanical just don't like the idea of playing with water.
The Mast light is out,I want change to a LED.
any recommendations on a replacement that will take very little refit time. I'm not keen on the idea of scaling my mast..thanks for the help.
