I have a 1986 Ericson 35, Mark II and would like to acquire somewhat the same fabric that was originally used. Can anyone help me.

a site search on "fabric" brings up quite a few mentions, but not too much hope for an exact replacement for that 80's pattern.

Here are some threads, and there's more....

BTW, when we had some interior work in '95 we were told that the pattern used in the Ericson's in the 80's was being phased out at that time.

Fabric

Jeeze why would you want to do that. Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...I just replaced the fabric on my Ericson 35 MkII, albeit a 1973. If Ok with the Missis, be happy to sell for a nominal sum. A god awful kind of plaid in my not so humble opinion.

Fabric pattern.

Dave and all, My boat too came from the factory with fabric poisoning. That wide, shiny, soft weave is something not to remember, actually something right out of a Sears couch ad of the era is most accurate. I always affectionately described mine to others as woven oatmeal which seemed to ring a familiar toll in the hearts of other E31, albeit, other Ericson owners of the period. Ahhhhh memories, thank goodness that's all they are. In defense of that fabric though, (I can't believe I'm saying this) the second owner of E31 hull #44 contracted to have his cleaned up from its dingy, gray black self to a fully restored, factory new and alive fabric. I have to admit, I was slack jawed as to how well it came bouncing back. In the long run, it saved him a lot of cash that he wisely redirected to other boat projects. Cheers, Glyn Judson, E31 hull #55, Marina del Rey, CA
