Ericson 28+ mast leak

Hi, I have an ‘86 Ericson 28+ with a mast leak that comes in at the headliner in the head tracks down towards the starboard side, leaks out the woodwork and drains into the sink, I can’t seem to track it down, does anyone know if there’s weep holes in the mast because I can’t find any?

Most likely the leak is from the wiring bundle that comes into the boat through a hole drilled into the cabin top under the mast step. The sealant has probably failed. You should be able to see the wiring if you unzip the headliner, or you may have to remove a bit of it. I would guess the 28+ arrangement is similar to the 30+. Difficult to fix this leak without removing the mast. There is a weep hole in the aft end of the mast, it would be good to clean this out if it is clogged. When the mast is removed you can fix the problem with sealant, a standpipe, or what I did, below.

Since this thread was started to solicit repair information and not to reference a vendor, I took the liberty of moving it to a regular repair-oriented Forum. This will, imho, make it easier to search on, also.
I hope the OP does not mind too much.

Thanks, Loren
