Are wood stringers the best alternative to replaceing the rusted steel
engine bed in the E35-II ?
The current bed is an angle iron sled glassed in to the hull with some
sort of sound insulation underneath. The legs are going...GONE! :eek:
The BEST engine bed rebuild found so far is in "35-2 diesel repower" -
Brisdon - 08.04.05. The template method is so COOL !
The old engine bed looks like it will have to be removed down to the hull
Will treat 2" red oak with resin, put in SS through-bolts for the mounts,
grind er down to clean FRP, glass er in and paint with BilgeCoat.
Any other advise would sure be appreciated
