My diesel mechanic friends say that it's the same.
Sometimes, when our truck stop is in the mood to do the extra paperwork, we can purchase cans of diesel for the boat at the lower-tax "off road" price.
Usually, I get diesel at the truck stop just to be sure it is fresh.
I buy it from marine fuel docks when on vacation, and have never had a problem.

Thanks Loren for your timely and credible response. I'm cleaning the tank and I'ld rather purchase a can or two of fuel before spring commisioning..(at a reasonable price), tough to run over to the fuel dock without fuel ! Ha Ha sort of the cart and horse or chicken and egg thing..
