Before we move our E27 to NJ, I wanted to do a day sail from where it's at (Kent Island). I know that are a is full of destinations but I'm not sure if I want to brave downtown Annapolis on a new boat on a weekend. Some less-hectic place with tie-up and eat restaurant or dock would be great with my crew.

Galesville on the West River is quiet, with a restaurant.
I was thinking the same thing.
If you decide you want to go to Annapolis, you can anchor outside the harbor proper off the Naval Acadamy, and the water taxi does make it's way out there.
I actually made it to Galesville with the kids a few weeks back. Other than my horrible docking (missed the slip, had to park at the end f the dock and do the walk of shame :^), we had a great time at Pirate's Cove. I think Rock Hall is next.
